The Kite Runner was the first novel written by Khaled Hosseini. It was followed by his second book, A Thousand Splendid Suns. And The Mountains Echoed is his third and most recent novel. I’ve read all three books. So, let’s talk about each book of his in brief.

The Kite Runner by Khaled Hosseini is the tale of two Afghan boys by the name of Amir and Hassan. It’s a story that tells us a lot about love, friendship, betrayal and the pureness of the human heart and soul. It’s a must-read novel. Fiction at its best.

A Thousand Splendid Suns by Khaled Hosseini

A Thousand Splendid Suns by Khaled Hosseini is the heart-wrenching story of Mariam and Laila, two headstrong Afghan women, and their lives under the notorious regime of the Taliban. Although it’s a fictional tale but it’s realistic fiction. 

The author has touched on several important topics in this story, including orphans, broken and displaced families, and, most importantly, neglected childhood, which our society and people generally ignore most of the time.

A Thousand Splendid Suns, Khaled Hosseini’s Second Novel. 

It’s a must-read book. But, read this novel diligently. Make sure you take your time while reading it. Because the story is too painful.

Khaled Hosseini’s And The Mountains Echoed

And The Mountains Echoed is the third book by Khaled Hosseini. Although it’s the tale of Abdullah and Pari. But, in between, there are so many stories that neither I connected with Abdullah nor Pari. I found this novel very disappointing.

In fact, his second novel, A Thousand Splendid Suns, is not only a masterpiece but also deserves to be read by everyone. But, And the Mountains Echoed is nothing like Mr. Hosseini’s novel.
